Terms of Use
Version 1.2 · Last updated: 21 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us about using Hike. We have tried to write them so you can actually read them. Where something matters especially to you, it is in bold.
By creating an account or using Hike, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Hike.

1. Who these terms are between
Hike ("Hike", "the Service") is operated by Muhammad Zohaib Ashraf, a sole trader trading as Hike ("we", "us", "our"), based in Karachi, Pakistan and contactable at tech@pintarlabs.io.
"You" means the person using Hike. These terms are an agreement between you and Muhammad Zohaib Ashraf. Hike is the product; the name above is the person behind it.
Paid plans are sold through Polar, who act as the merchant of record for those purchases. See section 8.
How we handle your personal data is covered by the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
2. Who can use Hike
You must be at least 18 years old. Hike is a tool for job seekers, it involves a contract, and we do not want to hold employment histories belonging to children. If you are under 18, you may not use Hike.
You must also be able to enter into a binding agreement, and not be barred from using the Service under the laws that apply to you.
3. Your account
You need an account, and you need to verify your email address before you can use it. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us at tech@pintarlabs.io if you think someone else has access.
Give us accurate information. You may sign in with Google or LinkedIn instead of a password; if you do, their terms apply to that sign in, not to Hike.
One account per person. You can see and revoke your signed in devices at any time in Settings.
4. What Hike does, and what it does not
Hike helps you write and tailor resumes and cover letters, keep a profile of your career, track jobs you are applying for, and fill in application forms.
What Hike does not do:
- It does not apply for jobs on your behalf. The browser extension fills fields in. You review them, and you press submit. See section 6.
- It does not send anything to an employer, recruiter or job board. Nothing in Hike transmits your resume anywhere. What you do with a document you download is up to you.
- It does not give professional advice. See section 12.
Features change. We may add, alter or remove them. If we remove something you depend on, we will give you reasonable notice and you can export your data and leave.
5. Artificial intelligence, plainly
Hike uses AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic to read resumes, write drafts, and score how well you match a job. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is sent to whom.
Three things you should hold onto:
- Output is a draft, not a fact. AI can be wrong, can be bland, and can write something about your experience that is not true. You are responsible for what you send to an employer. Check it.
- We do not train models on your data, and we do not let our providers do so.
- Scores are advisory. A match score or an ATS percentage is our estimate. It is not what any particular employer's system will produce, and it does not predict whether you will be hired.
6. The browser extension and filling in applications
If you install the Hike extension, you are asking it to act on pages you visit. Specifically, you authorise it to:
- read a job posting on a page you have opened, so it can be saved to your tracker;
- read your own LinkedIn profile, when you run the Profile Optimizer, in order to score it on your device;
- fill in fields on an application form with information you have given us.
The extension will not submit a form. Every field it fills is marked as a draft for review. Pressing submit is your action and your decision, and you are responsible for the accuracy of everything on the form when you do.
You may remove the extension at any time.
7. Your content, and what we may do with it
Your content stays yours. Your resumes, cover letters, profile, notes and contacts belong to you. We claim no ownership of them.
To run the Service we need your permission to handle them. You grant us a limited licence to store, copy, display and process your content, and to send the parts described in the Privacy Policy to our AI providers, solely in order to provide Hike to you. That licence exists only so the product can function. It ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your content to promote Hike, we do not show it to other users, and we do not sell it.
You are responsible for what you put in. By uploading content you confirm you have the right to, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
When you add someone else's details to your contacts, you confirm you have a legitimate reason to hold them.
8. Plans and payment
Hike has a Free plan and paid plans. The current prices are on the pricing page.
Who you buy from
Paid plans are sold by Polar, who are the merchant of record. Polar Software, Inc. sells the plan to you, collects the payment, handles any sales tax or VAT, and issues refunds. Polar's name appears alongside ours on your card statement.
That means two sets of terms apply to a purchase, and they cover different things. These terms cover your use of Hike. Polar's buyer terms cover the sale itself: payment, billing, tax and invoicing.
We never see or hold your card details. They are entered into Polar's checkout and collected by Polar's payment processor. They never reach us.
How billing works
- Plans are billed in advance for the cycle you choose, and renew automatically until cancelled.
- You may cancel at any time, from Settings → Billing, or from the billing portal linked there. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep your paid features until the end of the cycle you have already paid for.
- Prices may change, with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
- Prices are shown in the currency Polar presents at checkout, and the total you approve there, including any tax, is what you pay.
Refunds
You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of any payment, including a renewal, for any reason. The full terms are in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Wherever your local law gives you a statutory right to cancel or be refunded, that right applies regardless of anything we write.
The Free plan has limits, currently 3 resumes and 2 cover letters. These count everything you have created, so deleting a resume does not free a slot.
9. Referrals and trials
You can invite people to Hike with a link or by email. Some rules:
- Invite people you know. Do not post your link where it will reach people who did not ask for it, and do not send unsolicited bulk invitations.
- A trial is granted once per person. We use a normalised form of your email address to enforce that, so variations of the same address do not get repeat trials.
- Rewards are earned only when someone you referred actually pays. We can withhold or reverse a reward we believe was obtained by abuse, including self referral or fake accounts.
- Trial terms are fixed when the invitation is created, so changing our offer does not change a promise already made.
10. Fair use and limits
We apply rate limits so one user cannot degrade the service for everyone. These currently include limits on AI generations, sign in attempts, data exports and invitations. We may adjust them.
On paid plans, AI generations such as tailored resumes and cover letters are unlimited in number. Above a daily budget we slow them down rather than refuse them, by asking you to wait between one generation and the next. The app tells you when that applies, and the current budget and wait are published on the pricing page.
If your use is so far beyond normal individual use that it costs us disproportionately, or looks automated, we may contact you, throttle you, or suspend you.
11. Things you must not do
Do not:
- use Hike if you are under 18, or on behalf of someone who is;
- share your account, or resell access to Hike;
- put false information into an application through Hike, or use it to misrepresent your experience to an employer;
- upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to upload;
- scrape Hike, or automate it beyond normal use;
- try to break, overload, or find your way around our security or our limits;
- use Hike to send unsolicited messages of any kind.
12. No guarantee of a job
Hike does not guarantee you interviews, offers, or employment. It is a tool. Outcomes depend on you, on the market, and on employers.
Nothing in Hike is professional advice. Match scores, ATS percentages, salary figures, suggested wording and career recommendations are automated suggestions, not advice from a qualified adviser. If you need legal, financial, immigration or professional career advice, please speak to somebody qualified to give it.
Job listings shown in Hike come from third parties. We do not verify them, we do not endorse the employers, and we are not part of any hiring decision.
13. Suspension and ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion is described in the Privacy Policy: we hold it for 30 days in case you change your mind, then erase it permanently.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if keeping it open would put other users or the Service at risk. Except where the breach is serious or we are legally prevented, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your data.
14. Availability
We try to keep Hike running, but we do not promise it will always be available. It may go down for maintenance, or because something has broken. Please keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. The data export exists for exactly this.
15. Our liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows:
- Hike is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that AI output will be accurate or suitable.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost earnings, lost opportunities, or a job you did not get.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100. As no payments are currently possible, in practice this is the floor amount.
If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights your local law gives you, and nothing here takes them away.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version and date at the top tell you which version you are reading.
For any change that materially affects your rights or obligations, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and in the app before it takes effect. If you do not accept the change, you can close your account before then, and section 13 governs what happens to your data. Continuing to use Hike after a change takes effect means you accept it.
17. Governing law and disputes
We have not named a governing law or an exclusive venue in these terms. If a dispute ever needed deciding, the applicable law and the proper court would be determined by the ordinary rules that apply between us. You keep every right and every venue your own local law gives you as a consumer, and nothing here asks you to give one up.
We will name a governing law here in a future version, with at least 30 days' notice under section 16.
There is no arbitration clause and no class action waiver in these terms. If we ever add one, it will be a material change and you will get notice under section 16 before it takes effect.
Before starting any formal dispute, please write to us. Most things are faster to fix by email than by lawyers.
18. Contact
General and support: tech@pintarlabs.io Privacy: tech@pintarlabs.io Billing, refunds and invoices: Settings → Billing opens your billing portal, where your invoices are. For a refund, email us and we will arrange it with Polar.
Place of business: Karachi, Pakistan
We publish the city rather than a street address, because Hike is run by one person and that address is a home. If you need a postal address for a formal notice, ask and we will give you one.
